Speakout 2/3

Thursday, February 3, 2005

This is to the person who had a comment in SpeakOut on Jan. 26. This President is not the only one who has dipped into Social Security. They all have since it started. So if you don't like this one, get your facts straight before calling him the only one. Then cry me a river, Crybaby.

This message is for all the restaurants and bars in town that are hiring new people. It is very hard to enjoy a meal when the waitress has her stomach hanging out of her shirt. Please make it a point to let your employees know that we do not need to see all that!

This is concerning the paper delivery in Portageville. Why don't the papers come in Portageville until almost 6 p.m.? Why can't it come a little earlier?

The papers are transported to Portageville by another route carrier. They are delivered as soon as possible. Several routes are finished just before 6 p.m. It may seem later because of getting dark earlier. Your question, however, could probably be better answered by contacting your carrier at (573) 379-3755.

Is there any place in Sikeston or New Madrid that offers sliding fee rates where I can go? The place I have been going to has been closed a lot lately. During all the bad weather, they were closed and then I went there on a Monday recently and they were closed. I am looking for a place that is open all the time and where I can possibly get my prescription medicines cheaper.

There are still some honest people in the world. I lost my daughter's paycheck and money and a lady found it and turned it in. Thank you very much!

I would like for our area funeral homes in Sikeston, Portageville and the surrounding towns to just think about this. My friend stood up at a funeral the other night until her feet swelled so badly she couldn't walk to her car. Could they not put some kind of stools in the funeral home so the family could sit? I was at a visitation recently at a local funeral home and they had four stools on each side and the family could sit on them and still be there to greet their friends. Would all of you please look at that and think about how long they have to stand there and how hard it is, especially for women who may be wearing high-heeled shoes (sometimes they're barefooted before the night's over). Just think about it and give us a break, OK?

I am looking for an old tape by Rusty Goodman. The name of the song is "More Like Thee." I have looked everywhere, have called the Rusty Goodman Foundation and I can't find this tape. If anyone has this recording, please call me toll-free at (877) 545-4369 and ask for Brenda.
