CAIRO, Ill. - Christine Wolford, 83, formerly of Dorena, Mo., died at 3:40 a.m. Feb. 5, 2005, at the Daystar Care Center in Cairo.
Born Feb. 27, 1921, in Dorena, to the late Albert and Ida Newman Cole, she lived in rural Cairo for the past several years moving from Dorena. She was a member of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Tamms.
On April 10, 1937, she married Aaron Fern Wolford, who preceded her in death on April 1, 1986.
Five brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: four sons and three daughters-in-law, Wilbert and JoAnne Wolford and Marvin F. and Myrtle Wolford of Cairo, Billy J. and Jean Wolford of Murray, Ky., and George A. Wolford of Cordova, Tenn.; two sisters, Ella Bradley of Fulton, Ky., and Della Dunnegan of San Antonio, Texas; and seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday. Eugene Hart and Clint Nale will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jon Joe Bryant, McIvan Jones, Ronnie Hall, Richard Sutton, Terry Honey and Scott Miller.
