CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Mary Alvina Myer, 83, formerly of Benton, died at 6:55 a.m. April 6, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Jan. 15, 1922, in Kelso, daughter of the late Ella Pobst and Lawrence Henry Weissmueller, she was a cook for 27 years having worked at the County Seat Restaurant in Benton and Sands Pancake House in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of the St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.
On July 31, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, she married Dewitte A. Myer who survives of the home.
Survivors include: four sons, Mike Myer and David Myer of Jackson, Jim Myer of Cape Girardeau and Gary Myer of Benton; two daughters, Darlene Myer of Cape Girardeau and Sandy Luke of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Johnny Weissmueller of Chaffee; and four sisters, Clara Steimle of New Hamburg, Christine Shaeffer and Lorene Wolak of Jackson and Anna Marie Seiler of Old Appleton; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
One great-grandchild preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City with parish prayers at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Charles Pobst will officiate.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
