SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bush moved to their farm Saturday. Mr. Bush has been employed at the Lair Furniture Co. for the past eight years.

SIKESTON - The Rev. Dr. J. Lester McGee, senior minister of the First Methodist Church for two years, has been named pastor of the Centenary Methodist Church in St. Louis. Succeeding Dr. McGee in Sikeston is the Rev. Dr. Joseph H. Wagner, superintendent of the Hannibal-Mexico District of the church.

SCOTT CITY - Thomas E. Cooley assumed his duties as executive director of the Southeast Missouri Regional Port Authority Board of Commissioners on June 1. Before taking this position, Cooley was executive director of the Hickman-Fulton County Riverport in Hickman, Ky.

Scheffer, Mathew Henry, Zed Hagen, Devin Mills, Steven Nast, Katie Porter, Lauren Leible, Danielle Litwiller, Jordan Mullins, Kyle Deuster, Jeremy Stidham, Kim Milbach, Bethany Deuster, Elizabeth Chittenden, Catherine Marshall, Matthew Bain, Scott Elsey, Nathan Eaves, Katy Turpin, Lindsey Leible and Kasey Welker.


SIKESTON - Scott County Central Elementary School recently honored its most improved students at an awards and honors ceremony. The students are: Jessica McCoy, second grade; James Fort, first grade; Justin Eskew, first grade; Jamelle Ravon and Alanna Mills, kindergarten; Danna Sempson, fourth grade; Amy Hobbs, third grade; and Wesley Westmoreland, sixth grade.
