James New

Born July 10, 1919, at Myrtle, Miss., son of the late Mose and Ruby Hood New, he was a member of the New Prospect Southern Baptist Church.

On May 20, 1940, he married Regenia Wayne Meacham who survives.

Other survivors include: one son, William Darryl New of Malden; three daughters, Kathleen Clapsaddle of Springfield, Brenda Busboom of Buckeye, Ariz., and Jennifer Stratman of Sikeston; one brother, Noel New of Campbell; one sister Doris Causey of Malden; and 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Donna New; two sisters, Willie Murie Elder and Earlene Masters; and one brother, Ray New.

Services were conducted at 1 p.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden with the Rev. Paul Starnes officiating.

Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
