BERNIE - Mary Reeda Palmer, 82, died April 4, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Aug. 20, 1921, in Bernie, she was the daughter of the late John Neil and Mary Elizabeth Robinson Murphy. She and her husband owned and operated a service station in Bernie and also managed motels in St. Louis.
On April 1, 1939, at Piggott, Ark., she married Hershel William Palmer who preceded her in death on May 26, 1993.
Survivors include: one daughter, Patricia Elaine Brown of Bernie; one brother, J.W. Murphy of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Beulah Summers of Dexter and Dorothy Kincaid of the state of California; and one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter and one great-great-granddaughter.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Peter Murphy and Howard Murphy; and one sister, Doris Brown.
Services were conducted at 1 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie with the Rev. James Todd officiating.
Burial followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
