SIKESTON - On Sept. 12, 2004, at 2 a.m., our earth angel, Dustan Ray Heaton, went to be with his father in Heaven.
Born on June 22, 1984, in Cape Girardeau, he has been a patient at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., since February 2002. In May 2002, he graduated from Sikeston Senior High School and had played SHS football. He was a member of Trinity Gospel Church in Sikeston and was a member of Youth Alive, served as an officer with Future Farmers of America at SHS and was pursing a degree in conservation.
He is survived by his parents, Billie Kennedy Heaton and Kelly and Melinda Heaton of Sikeston; two brothers, Dylan Heaton of the home and Austin Campbell of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; one sister, Paige Stalnacker of the home; his maternal grandparents, Noel and Mary Cantrell of Sikeston; his paternal grandparents, Dean and Carol Heaton of Bertrand; and five aunts, six uncles, one nephew, numerous cousins, great-aunts and uncles and friends.
In heaven, he will meet his maternal grandfather, Bryant Kennedy and cousins, Courtney Kennedy and Loren Roach.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Gospel Church. The Rev. Larry Davis, pastor, officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Tidwell, Derek McKowan, Don King, Kyle Sindle, Rick Davis, Trey White.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Patrick Casey, Kyle Casey, Zach Casey, Adam Wicker, Joe Yant, Matt Bain, Ronnie Tidwell, Steven Tidwell, Dan Ahlfield, Trevor Ahlfield.
