SIKESTON - Marie Greenwood Muench, 61, died at 7:40 a.m. Sept. 11, 2004, at her home.
Born Dec. 3, 1942, in Maryland Point, Md., daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Olive Bell Wilson Greenwood, she was a registered nurse and director of nurses at the Sikeston Convalescent Center for more than 25 years. A member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Episcopal Christian Women, she had served on the church vestry, had been senior warden and also served on the Altar Guild. She was a delegate to the diocese convention and a former member of Beta Sigma Phi.
On Oct. 16, 1964, at Washington, D.C., she married Carl J. Muench Jr. who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lynda Muench and Amy and Shane Smith of Sikeston and Patti and Doug Dobbs of Clarksville, Tenn.; two brothers, Everett Greenwood of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Carl Greenwood of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Virginia Scott of Frederick, Md., and Beck Howdershelt of Fredericksburg, Va.; two grandchildren Aaron Dobbs and Meagan Dobbs of Clarksville; and her mother-in-law, Avis Muench of the home.
She was preceded in death by one son, Trey Muench, in 1988; and one brother.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Marion Rectenwald, pastor, officiating.
