Oran baseball, softball roll past SCC

MORLEY - The Oran Eagles baseball team remained undefeated on the season with a 13-1, five-inning road win against Scott County Central on Friday.

Oran pitcher Trevor Irwin threw four innings and allowed one unearned run off one hit. He struck out five and walked two.

Austin Dumey pitched one inning of relief, allowing one hit with two strikeouts.

Scott Central's Tyler Griffin took the loss in 2 2/3 innings of work. He allowed 13 runs (seven earned) off seven hits and eight walks. He struck out one.

Paul Bucher led Oran with three hits and four RBIs. Matt Seyer and Chase Seyer each had two hits.

Craig Friga and Brent Graviett each collected one hit. Friga added two RBIs.

Scott Central's only hits were by Jeremy Johnson, who had a double, and Andrew Pullen, including an RBI.

Oran will host North Pemiscot on Monday at 4 p.m.

SOFTBALL

NEW MADRID - The New Madrid County Central softball team defeated Charleston by the mercy rule in three innings with a 22-2 victory.

NMCC was led by Megan Rinehart with four hits and Lauren Daniels with three hits. Autumn Walker, Heather Redd and Jessica Gist each had two hits.

Katie Denton was the winning pitcher, allowing four hits and six walks with one strikeout.

NMCC (2-1) will host Kennett on April 13 at 4 p.m.

Oran 21, Scott Central 1

MORLEY - Oran exploded for 13 first inning runs to rout host Scott Central 21-1 in three innings.

Jamie Pobst picked up the win in three innings, allowing three walks with eight strikeouts.

Jessica Womack and Amber Walter each had three hits and two RBIs.

Pobst had a double with three RBIs. Paige Hinkle and Tiffany Glastetter each had home runs. Kim Eftink added a triple and Hannah Seyer had an RBI-double.

Oran (2-1) will host Scott City on Wednesday.
