Speakout 4/5

Monday, April 5, 2004

Jobs were lost in Stoddard County under President Clinton. How come? Gephardt didn't tell Carr about all the jobs that were lost in little towns around Dexter and in Stoddard County when he was here in Missouri. I just heard on TV how many jobs have been lost under Bush. It all started under Clinton.

I went to a restaurant today. There was a mother and a child and the mother was screaming and hollering at the child, she got a belt after the child and nothing was done about it. They were running and screaming and we just did not enjoy our meal.

In regards to the Ferguson Medical Clinic suit against our hospital, I am concerned. We can do without them but we need our hospital. Since they have shown so much greed, I now have a new physician.

I am calling about the March 29 SpeakOut concerning the youth hanging out at Rhodes 101 Stop. The person couldn't understand why the management and DPS have a problem with it. I have a real big problem with it. Apparently, the person who called in doesn't live over here by the store like I do. They can't understand why it's not OK. If you lived here you would know because there is trash constantly thrown out, I've almost gotten hit several times just passing by or going through there on Friday and Saturday night, there is a steady stream of traffic and people circling the roads and when you live in the area, it can really be bad. The traffic is terrible in the streets behind Rhodes and beer bottles and trash are thrown out. I also have a teen-ager but they're not allowed to hang out at Rhodes because it isn't necessary. I don't think the management at Rhodes and DPS are strict enough and I back them up and I hope all this unnecessary traffic is ended soon before someone gets hurt or killed there.

I am looking for a lift chair. If anyone has one out there who doesn't need theirs anymore, please put a phone number in SpeakOut. My husband is very sick and needs one very badly.

I live in Morehouse near a place that was burned down about four months ago on Poplar Street. Everything is just sitting there. The whole pile of rubble is still there with yellow ribbon around the perimeter. Clean it up.

To the person on Harding Street who wants a noise violation sign put up, I live on a street that has the signs (three, in fact) but it does not good. There is noise all day and all night long and the police won't do anything about it. All they do is tell the people about the ordinance but they don't give them tickets or arrest them or anything. You don't need a sign.
