Virginia Clubbs

EAST PRAIRIE - Virginia Mae Clubbs, 79, died at 1 p.m. April 7, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Sept. 18, 1924, in Dunklin County, daughter of the late Oliver and Nellie Bremenger Williford, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She was a member of the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church.

On Oct. 24, 1938, she married Arthur C. Clubbs who preceded her in death on May 21, 1992.

Survivors include: three sons, Phillip Clubbs, John Clubbs and Darrell Clubbs of East Prairie; two daughters, Barbara Jackson of St. Louis and Carolyn Bowles of Poplar Bluff; and 23 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Dewey Clubbs and Charles Clubbs; one brother, Vernon Williford; and one half sister.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Buddy Hannah will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Clarkton.
