Willie Weed

PORTAGEVILLE - Willie Lee "Bill" Weed, 77, died Nov. 10, 2003, at his home.

Born March 26, 1926, in Arkansas, son of the late John Arthur and Martha Jane Smith Weed, he was a machinist in Rockford, Ill., before retiring. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

On Jan. 31, 1945, at Caruthersville, he married Dorothy Mae Wilson who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, William J. Weed of Buchanan, Tenn.; two daughters, Patricia Ann Ball of Cherry Valley, Ill., and Shirley Mae Ball of Tomah, Wis.; one brother, George Weed of Hayti; and seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were four sisters, Ruby Mercer, Olene Weed, Louise Mercer and Annie Garrett; and One brother, Jake Weed.

Visitation is from noon Wednesday until service time at 3 p.m. at DeLisle Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Inman will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
