DEXTER - Avis M. Horton, 97, died April 25, 2007, at the Central Gardens Residential Care in Dexter.

Born Sept. 9, 1909, at Ardmore, Okla., to the late Samuel P. and Birdie Pittman McCollough, she was a former secretary for Bell Oil and Gas Refinery and owner and operator of an appliance store in Ardmore. A stockbroker for many years, she was of the Baptist belief.

In February 1927, she married Raymond B. Dayton who preceded her in death in 1965. In 1971, at Sherwood Shores, Texas, she married Charles Horton who preceded her in death in 1978.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Milton McCollough.

Survivors include: one daughter, Betty Yount of Bloomfield; two sisters, Bliss Watkins of Ardmore and Jovan Dawson of Denver; one sister-in-law, Shirley McCollough of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren and six great-

grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Ardmore.
