Death investigated

CHARLESTON - An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death for a Southeast Correctional Center inmate.

William Cottrell, a 48-year-old male serving a life sentence for second degree murder and armed criminal action, was pronounced dead at 2:07 a.m. Thursday at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. The autopsy was ordered due to DOC policy.

Cottrell was received by the Missouri Department of Corrections on Jan. 25, 1993.
