FERGUSON - Sheldon McGregor, 59, formerly of Puxico, died June 14, 2004, at the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.
Born Jan. 14, 1945, in Massillon, Ohio, son of the late Hadley and Cosa Swanner McGregor, he had lived in Michigan before moving to Puxico and lived in Ferguson for the past five years. He held a Ph.D. in genetics and was pastor of the First Baptist Church in Granite City, Ill.
On Jan. 26, 1974, at Puxico, he married Kay Lee who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Todd McGregor of Zalma and Wade McGregor of Puxico; one daughter, Dara Alexander of Ferguson; one brother, Eddie McGregor of Oxford, Mich.; and four grandchildren.
One brother, Shannon McGregor, preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Ron Lambert of Edwardsville, Ill., the Rev. Harlem Burrows of Ferguson, the Rev. Clarence Jackson of Florissant and the Rev. Fred Ritter of Marble Hill will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico.
