BENTON - David E. Pobst, 49, died at 4:38 p.m. June 14, 2004, at his home.
Born Oct. 6, 1954, in Sikeston, son of Judy Ann Heath Pobst of Oran and the late Eugene H. Pobst, he earned a master gardener certificate and was employed by Diebold Orchards. He had been a farmer and was a van driver for Heartland Health and Rehab in Cape Girardeau.
On March 31, 1994, in Wickliffe, Ky., he married Diane Lumley who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: one son, David Eric Pobst of Paducah, Ky.; one stepson, Adam Michael Lumley of Sikeston; one stepdaughter, Sarah Ann Lumley of Benton; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Danny Dempster of McGee and Teresa and Robert Cook of Oran; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a niece, Elizabeth Ann Friga.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
