Chaffee Centennial events
Saturday, May 21
Old Fashioned Day activities begin at 9 a.m. with crafters and vendors invited to set up this year downtown at no charge; Centennial Parade at 1 p.m., followed with the funeral procession and burial of Jim Razor. This kicks off the summer-long beard contest. Following is an old-fashioned shoot and carriage rides. A free street dance at Medicap parking lot from 7 - 11 p.m. concludes the day's activities.

Tywappity Trails 5K run and walk starting at 8:30 a.m.
Friday June 10
Golf scramble begins at noon at Bootheel Golf Course in Sikeston
Friday, June 17
Begins the barbecue cook-off at Frisco Park and continues through Saturday afternoon.
Saturday, June 18
Historical Day, tractor parade and show downtown. Quilt turning and show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Ambrose Parish Center. Saturday afternoon, time uncertain as of yet, will be the SEMOW Lawn Racers at Frisco Park.
Saturday, July 23
Historical pageant containing vignettes from Chaffee's history and musical selections by the chorus and pianists; also a fashion show at 7 p.m. at the Chaffee High School Activity Center
Saturday, Aug. 6
Winners of the diamond bonanza and sportsman raffles will be drawn at Circle Park. Raffle tickets for these two drawings will be available at various merchants downtown. And the diamonds will be on display at the Montgomery Bank on event Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. The 2005 Jeep, Harley 2005 and the Centennial engraved 30-06 Remington rifle will also be on display for the events. A band will play in the afternoon.
Friday and Saturday, Aug. 12-13
German Days in the downtown area: the beard contest will be judges and winners selected. A carnival and fireworks will end the summer-long festivities and centennial celebrations.
