PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Scott and Ann Smith have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Ann, to Derek Lewis Hoxworth, son of Darrell and Kathy Hoxworth of Portageville, Mo.
A 2001 graduate of Escambia High School, the future bride earned a bachelor's degree in communication arts from the University of West Florida, College of Arts and Science. She is the granddaughter of Robert M. Jones of McAlester, Okla., John N. and Marsha Rogers Smith of Arlington, Texas, and the late Gayle Brady Jones.
The prospective bridegroom graduated in 1996 from Portageville High School and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo., and a master's degree in administration from William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. He is currently employed by the Baptist Healthcare Corp. in Pensacola. His grandparents are Helen Hoxworth and Lillie Williams, both of Portageville and the late Lewis Hoxworth and James "Tiny" Williams.
The couple will wed June 6 in Mobile, Ala.
