CHARLESTON - Allen Swayzer, 94, died June 15, 2004, at the Charleston Manor.
Born Dec. 5, 1909, in Yazoo City, Miss., son fo the late Harold and Agnes Brown Swayzer, he lived in Missouri since 1924. He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Henson, where he served on the deacon board.
In 1950, he married Willie Mae Spakes who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Dorothy Mae Cratton of Charleston and Betty Jean Page of Battle Creek, Mich.; one son, Odell Swayzer of Michigan City, Ind.; one stepson, Eugene Ferrell of Michigan City; five brothers, John Edward Swayzer of Seattle, Robert Swayzer, address unavailable, Fred Lee Swayzer of Virginia and Grady Swayzer and Clarence Swayzer of Kansas City; 11 sisters, Leonia Forge of St. Louis, Carline Swayzer of Detroit, Earnestine Steward and Hazel Clark of Blytheville, Ark., Colline Swayzer of Chicago and Ella Mae Harrid, Joyce Marie Swayzer, Inez Crawford, Shirley Jean Swayzer, Shelia Swayzer and Merinda Swayzer of Kansas City; and several grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from noon Saturday until service time at 1 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Lavern Frazier will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
