John H. Adams
ARLINGTON, Va. - John H. Adams, 86, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Jan. 18, 2005, at his home.
Born Nov. 2, 1918, in Sikeston, son of the late Dr. Lawrence B. and Beatrice O'Connell Adams, he was a veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of the journalism school at the University of Missouri-Columbia and retired as managing editor of U.S. News and World Report.
In 1940 he married Lorraine Pollard who preceded him in death in 2004.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Maj. Gen. Lawrence Adams and 1st Lt. Patrick Adams; one sister, Ann Adams Ferguson; and one grandson.
Survivors include: two sons, John Bruce Adams of Jackson, Wyo., and Lawrence K. Adams of Arlington; one daughter, Barbara Adams Loder of McClean; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for early February in Arlington.
