Full Size Fashions closing

Sunday, May 16, 2004

SIKESTON - The Full Size Fashions store, located in the Sikeston Factory Outlet Mall, is closing.

J.T. Harris, president of Lots to Love Inc., announced May 12 his company would close all 23 Full Size Fashions stores located within 15 states within the next few weeks. The local store began its going-out-of-business sale on Friday.

Harris said that slower business last year and a desire to retire at age 67 are the reasons for the store closures. "Our firm is in strong financial condition," Harris said, adding that an attempt was made to sell the stores. However, Harris said, his company was apparently too small for the large chains to consider buying and too large for local buyers to consider buying.

Thanking the customers around Sikeston for their loyalty to the store, which opened in 1994, Harris added he "regrets the fact that this decision to close will cause many good people to lose their jobs and the decision will mean that our customers will have to find another source for hard-to-find clothing in sizes XL to 6X."

Harris Brothers Inc., the parent company to Lots to Love Inc., was started in McCook Nebraska in 1976.
