SIKESTON - Annie Sue Evans, 84, died March 21, 2008, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
Born July 21, 1923, in Friendship, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Margaret Buchanan Greene. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1979 after 27 years of service. A homemaker, she was a member of Telephone Pioneers and a lifetime member of the Communication Workers of America.
On May 15, 1941, she married Woodrow "Woody" Evans, and he survives of the home in Sikeston.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughter-in-laws, Terry and Martha Evans of Sikeston and David and Cindy Evans of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Rob, Lisa, Leslie and Leah; and seven great-grandchildren, Hanna, Cameron, Clayton, Tre, Ashley, Andrew and Justin.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
