SIKESTON - Chester Oldham announced today that he is withdrawing as a candidate for alderman from Ward Four in the city election.

SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Ramsey are the parents of a daughter born yesterday.

SIKESTON - The weather luck of the Sikeston area was broken this morning as residents awoke to find the ground covered by a 2-inch snow.

SIKESTON - Dr. Robert Buchanan, superintendent of Sikeston Public Schools, explained that the school district's proposed property tax increase to members of the Sikeston Development Council Monday night. On April 5, school district voters will be asked whether the property tax rate should be increased by 84 cents.


SIKESTON - Lynn Colley, president of Sikeston Little Theatre and administrator of the Sikeston Arts Council, is one of 20 people appointed to a statewide committee to advise the Missouri Arts Council.

BLOOMFIELD - The Stoddard County Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft of livestock in the Bernie area. Statements were taken Thursday and the investigation continues in the matter.


SIKESTON - Dr. Steve Carney of the Ferguson Medical Group will present a video at 6 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church and share recent missionary experiences in India. Carney joined other doctors, nurses, lay persons and clergy in a month-long medical mission endeavor, which focused primarily on the outlying villages near the province of Neelyama-
