CAPE GIRARDEAU - Carol Page Blanton, 65, died Jan. 1, 2005, at her home.

Born Dec. 25, 1939, in Sikeston, daughter of Mary Lucille Page of Sikeston and the late Lee Page, she was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, PEO Sisterhood and the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Legion of Mary in Sikeston. A 1957 graduate of Sikeston High School, where she was cayenne for the Red Peppers in 1957, she attended the University of Missouri at Columbia, University of Arkansas and the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati. She was director of the Submissions Therapeutic Team for Quintiles Pharmaceuticals.

On Feb. 4, 1959, in Sikeston, she married Harry A. Blanton who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include: four sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Blanton of Belleville, Ill., Christopher and Bridget Blanton of Temecula, Calif., Harry Blanton of Cincinnati and John Blanton of San Diego; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and John Murphy of Burke, Va., and Anne and David Cross of St. Charles; one brother, David Page of Sikeston; and 11 grandchildren, Robert Francis Blanton, Rose Eleanor Blanton, Lee Page Blanton, Anna Rebecca Murphy, John Paul Murphy, Mary Margaret Murphy, Timothy James Murphy, William David Cross, Connor Augustine Cross, Caroline Adele Cross and Patrick Michael Russell.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, where a rosary at 6:30 p.m. will be followed with a vigil service at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Derek Swanson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sikeston City Cemetery.
