LEORA -- Annetta Varble, 97, died June 13, 2005, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
Born Sept. 28, 1907, in Uniontown, Ky., daughter of the late Ernest and Nora Pike Williams, she had lived most of her life in the Leora community, where she and her husband owned and operated a store. She was a member of the Leora Missionary Baptist Church and the Puxico Eastern Star.
On Nov. 3, 1924, in Stoddard County, she married Ralph Varble who preceded her in death on July 5, 1982.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Tony Varble; three brothers, Andrew, Dupree and Romuald Williams; and three sisters, Mary Bell Clippard, Gertrude Pixley and Augusta Williams.
Survivors include: one son, Paul D. Varble of Arnold; one daughter, Mary Lou Koetting of Bloomfield; one sister, Eleanor Bridwell of Sikeston; and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. Thursday until time for services at 7 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Vaughn Wright of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Dexter Cemetery.
