CARUTHERSVILLE -- Two Pemiscot County men pled guilty on first degree sexual charges and were sentenced to prison Thursday.
According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, after a change of venue from Pemiscot County to Dunklin County, 30-year-old Doyal Jackson of Steele pled guilty to charges of statutory sodomy involving an 8-year-old female who is formerly of Steele. Jackson received a 10-year sentence to the Missouri Department of Corrections. The investigation was a cooperative effort by investigators from the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department, Missouri Division of Family Services, Pemiscot County Juvenile Office, Missouri State Technical Assistance Team and the Steele Police Department.
Also on Thursday, 23-year-old Ronald Keller of Hayti pled guilty to charges of first-degree statutory rape and received a 15-year sentence to the Missouri Department of Corrections. It was alleged Keller had committed sexual acts on a small child over a course of several different times.
Conducting the investigation were Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department, Steele Police Department, Missouri Division of Family Services and the Pemiscot County Juvenile Office.
Both cases were prosecuted by Pemiscot County Prosecutor Mike Hazel.
