BERNIE - Lula Luvenia Cooper, 94, died July 25, 2005, in the emergency room of the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born Jan. 2, 1911, in Malden, daughter of the late James Cleveland and Lydia Gulledge Moore, she was a homemaker and member of the Lone Oak General Baptist Church near Malden.

On April 24, 1932, at Bernie, she married Marcus Lafayette Cooper who preceded her in death on March 1, 1973.

One son, Marcus D. Cooper, and two sisters, Lizzie Brown and Lena Moore, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: five sons, Elmer Eugene Cooper of Spanaway, Wash., Jimmy Ray Cooper of Bernie, Jackie Lee Cooper of St. Louis and Kenneth D. Cooper and Steven Cooper of Dexter; one daughter, Jo Ann Bowman of Bernie; one brother, Byrdie Moore of Bozeman, Mont.; one sister, Jettie Holland of Fayetteville, Ark.; and 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday. The Revs. Kenneth Biggs and Don Cooper will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
