SIKESTON - The senior class of 1944 will present the play "The Mad March Heirs" on Friday. Cast members include: Shirley Dillion, Charlotte Strain, Chris Porter, Louise Jackson, Grace Sitzes, Louise Skelton, Miller Moll, Bert Moore, Jeanne Jackson, Ila Mae Fowler, Raymond Wright, LaVerne Yoffie, Mary Ellen Bailey, Mildred Lambert, John Boardman and Lorraine Graber.

MOREHOUSE - The world anxiously watched as the bombing of Berlin was followed by allied troops storming the beaches of Normandy. Bing Crosby sang "Going My Way." Locally, 1944 saw a group of Morehouse men band together and build a bridge; a bridge called Kiwanis.

SIKESTON - The Young Democrats of Scott County have elected Tony Heckemeyer as president; Kenneth Dement as vice president; Fielding Potashnick, secretary; and Bill Lewis, treasurer.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston R-6 Board of Education unanimously approved a motion giving local public school teachers either a 6.73 or a 5 percent raise and a $300 insurance premium for the 1984-85 school year.

SIKESTON - Computers are making their way into every aspect of the world today, from business to pleasure. It is believed the technological advancement will be used even more in the future and area children are getting a head start on many adults by learning about the machines now.

SIKESTON - The Make-A-Wish Foundation was presented a $1,661 donation from the Sikeston Sonic Drive-In following the recent Upsilon Omega Celebrity Carhop.
