Born April 21, 1929, in Anniston, son of the late Charles G. "Andy" and Hattie Mae Thurman Calhoon, he had lived in the Ontario/Chino areas for the past 38 years. He worked for Ameron Steel in Etiwanda and later retired from the Combee Electric in Ontario. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a member of the Charleston Masonic Lodge 407 A.F.&A.M.
His wife of 26 years, Betty Calhoon, survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, John and Roxanne Hillbish of Yorba Linda; four daughters and son-in-laws, Cheryl and Rodger Sillman of Chino, Debbie and Robert Bremer of Chino Hills, Terre Lyn and Brian Busch of Washington and Polly Jo and Kevin Deacons of Michigan; two sisters, Halene Deleon of East Prairie, Mo., and his twin, Bobbie Jean Wicker of Anniston; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Charles G. and Thurman Calhoon; and three sisters, Colene Oliver, Grace Sanders and Frances Houser.
Visitation will be at noon on Wednesday until service time at 3 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Bro. Steven Domingue will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Anniston Cemetery.
