CAPE GIRARDEAU - Harry D. Friend Jr., 92, formerly of Sikeston, died July 30, 2005, at The Lutheran Home.
Born June 22, 1913, in Caruthersville to the late Harry Davenport and Grace Liles Friend Sr., he was a self-employed farmer in the Matthews area and a member of the Missouri Farm Bureau.
Retiring in 1979, he moved from Sikeston to Cape Girardeau where he was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Laymen's League.
On Nov. 15, 1942, in Parma, he married Eulalia F. Kirsch, who preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2004.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Randal and Marilyn Friend of Scott City; and three grandsons, Aaron, Todd and Chad Friend of Scott City.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Paul Short will officiate.
Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
