SIKESTON - Neva Mae Taylor, 88, died May 27, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born July 14, 1915, in Charleston, daughter of the late Alfred Edward and Mittie Mae Goforth Taylor, for more than 75 years she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston where she served as organist for 25 years. She was also an organist for Wesley United Methodist Church in Sikeston for several years and had taught piano lesson in her home for many years. She was employed by McKnight-Keaton Grocery Company for 35 years and worked for Drury Inn in Nashville, Tenn., for five years. In 1985, she retired as a caseworker for the Missouri Division of Family Services in Sikeston and was also a volunteer at Missouri Delta Medical Center for many years.
Survivors include: one brother and sister-in-law, Melfred and Margaret Taylor of Sikeston; three nephews and nieces, Fred and Barbara Taylor of Des Moines, Iowa, and Michael and Mary Lou Taylor and Steve and Pat Taylor of Sikeston; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Dr. Rick Ramsey, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Rick Lasley, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Entombment will be at the Sikeston City Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be: Fred Taylor, Mike Taylor, Steve Taylor, Aaron Taylor, Justin Taylor and Ed Taylor.
