CHARLESTON - Maebell Farries, 83, died at 7:45 a.m. June 4, 2004, at her home.
Born Aug. 16, 1920, in Earle, Ark., daughter of the late James and Ophelia Davis Kellie, she had lived in Missouri for over 65 years. A member, missionary and trustee of the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, she was also on the church's Mother's Board.
On Dec. 7, 1936, she married Joe David Farries, who preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 1996.
Also preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband was one son, Isiah Farries.
Survivors include: five sons and three daughters-in-law, Albert Benjamin and Carol Farries of Broadview, Ill., David Farries of St. Louis, Raymond Lee and Cassandra Farries of Berkeley, Ill., John Wesley and Beverly Farries of Bellwood, Ill., and Michael Lee Farries of Atlanta, Ga.; seven daughters and four sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Rodger Lynch of Evansville, Ind., Ethel Lee Smith of Peoria, Ill., Ophelia and Floyd Mason, Charla and Charlie Clark, and Evelyn and Jimmie Randle, Mary Lane and Flora Farries of Charleston; and 52 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7-8 p.m. today at the Williams Funeral Home in Charleston. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
