CHARLESTON -- Jackson R. "Jack" Pirtle, 74, died at 9 p.m. July 30, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Oct. 17, 1930, in the state of Indiana, he had lived in the Charleston area for a number of years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
On Oct. 9, 1964, he married Lois Jean Martin who preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 1991. He later married Rosemary Borders who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Kenneth E. Bailey of Oran, Daniel R. Bailey of Bell City and James B. Pirtle of East Prairie; two daughters, Lois Marie "Sissy" Mathis of Charleston and Jackie Sue Crammer of Benton; and several grandchildren.
Graveside rites will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield. The Rev. Jerry Adams of Sikeston will officiate.
Burial will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
