DEXTER - Donald Ray, 64, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died July 31, 2005, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter.
Born April 29, 1941, in Manila, Ark., son of the late James Henry and Violet Cook Ray, he had lived in Cape Girardeau for 30 years and had resided in Dexter for the past 17 months. A U.S. Army veteran, he was retired from Sams Club 6479 in Cape Girardeau and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
On Sept. 14, 1962, at Poplar Bluff, he married Dorthey JoAnn Baker who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Kenneth Ray of Dexter; three daughters, Teresa Cook, Malinda Hill and Donni Clubb of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Roger Ray of Dexter and Glenn Billings of McRae, Ark.; three sisters, Geneva Seeds of Oxford, Mich., Brenda Presson of Rector, Ark. and Dean Anderson of Black Oak, Ark.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Masonic services at 7 p.m. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Chapel with Cletus Patterson of Bernie officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
