Thursday, May 27, 2004

SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Lair are receiving congratulations on the birth of their daughter.

SIKESTON - The Board of Directors of Republic States Life Insurance Co. announced today they have elected William B. Lynn, 39, president to succeed Arbit C. Clark, who resigned.

SIKESTON - Among the many community service roles performed through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Scott County is a weekly bingo game for residents of the Sikeston Manor nursing home. A fund-rising drive to continue present services by RSVP and possibly to extend to new areas will be launched this week.

SIKESTON - Move over, adults. Young people everywhere are making heads turn with some pretty-eye catching bathing suits that are on the market today. Swim wear that is available for children ages birth to preteen is not what it used to be. Kenleigh Lape, Ashleigh Lape and Jordan Miller, took some time out to show off some of this exciting swim wear.

PARMA - Students at Parma Elementary School have been named to the fourth quarter honor roll list. They include Jamal Howell and Nikki Thomas, eighth grade; Bryan Borders, Beau Kegley and Brandy Morgan, seventh grade; and Latrina Allen, Tracy Cullum, Pamela Griffin, Elizabeth Murray, Heather Neal, Nikki Scallion and Alisha Thatch, sixth grade.

SIKESTON - National Lock and the Eagles don't like mysteries - or so it seems from Friday's Sikeston Junior Babe Ruth League play. The game ended with a National Lock win over Bunny Bread, 25-11.
