NEW MADRID - Dr. and Mrs. D.J. Allenstein of New Madrid are the parents of a son born Tuesday at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.


MORLEY - Renshaw Hale, S2/c, who has been stationed at St. Louis, spent the Thanksgiving holiday with his wife and son, Larry Joe, of Morley; and his parents of Vanduser, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Hale.

SIKESTON - The Lions Club will again sponsor the annual Christmas Lighting Contest this year and plans are well along to handle this annual event which has proved popular in previous years.

SIKESTON - Greg Stark, service manager at the Pro-Computer Shop in Cape Girardeau, talked with fourth grade EAGLE students about computers and "TOPO," a robot that runs off a computer. The presentation was part of the Sikeston Eagle Program's 10-week computer education program. The presentation was videotaped and made available to all elementary schools in Sikeston.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston High School cheerleading squad, which took honors at the Missouri State High School Cheerleading competition recently, performed during the half-time of Tuesday night's home basketball opener against Notre Dame.


CAPE GIRARDEAU - A groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday at Southeast Missouri State University marked the beginning of the Robert A. Dempster Hall of Business. Present for the event were Gov. Mel Carnahan, Southeast President Kala M. Stroup; Lynn Dempster, vice president of the Board of Regents; and Donald L. Harrison, president of the Board of Regents.
