PADUCAH, Ky. - Glen Curtis Witt, 78, died at 8:41 p.m. Jan. 3, 2005, at Western Baptist Hospital.
Born Dec. 4, 1926, in Cincinnati, son of the late Curtis and Mattie Leona Bullard Witt, he was a former fire captain for the Lone Oak Fire Department and worked in the shipping department for the Paducah Sun for 38 years before retiring. A member of the Lone Oak First Baptist Church, he was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a Kentucky colonel, member of Disabled American Veterans and former member of the Lone Oak Lions Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force.
His wife, Marian Angelly Witt, survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Linda Newberry of Kevil and Karen Weatherholtz of Lone Oak; one sister, Virginia King of Lapeer, Mich.; three brothers, Lonnie Witt of Peoria, Ill., Wilbur Witt of Gulfport, Miss., and Orvel Witt of West Plains, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Warren Newberry, Garret Newberry and Kaitlyn Newberry of Kevil and Ryan Weatherholtz of Lone Oak.
One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Thursday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home in Paducah, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Dan Summerlin and Oren Hanbaum will officiate.
Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
