IRONTON - Ruby Alma Huffman, 92, formerly of Marquand, died Jan. 3, 2005, at the Baptist Home, where she had been a resident since 2000.
Born Aug. 2, 1912, at Buckhorn, daughter of the late David Franklin and Martha Murray Gipson, she was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church in Marquand.
On May 19, 1934, she married George Henry Huffman who preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Warren and Shirley Huffman of Marquand and Keith and Jackie Huffman of Ironton; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and John Ossig of Glen Allen; one brother, Elmer Gipson of Fredericktown; four sisters, Ruth Fields of Fredericktown, Ophia Whitener and Gladys Boettcher of St. Louis and Eleanor Sanders of St. Charles; and six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, two sisters, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Gerald Collier, former pastor of the First Baptist Church in Charleston, will officiate. Her son, Keith Huffman, is former director of the Charleston Baptist Association and currently serving as interim pastor for the First Baptist Church in Charleston.
Burial will follow in the Huffman-McKelvey Cemetery in Buckhorn.
