NEW MADRID - The J.A. Hummel Drug Company of New Madrid announces that Dr. Bertram J. Allenstein has located there for the practice of medicine and surgery. The doctor will open his office there Wednesday.

RICHLAND - Richland High School has announced as its candidate for Cotton Carnival Queen Judy Lane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lane of Route 1, Parma.

FAYETTE - Three Sikeston students are attending Central Methodist College this Fall. Stephen Rice, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Rice, is a senior majoring in journalism; Grant W. Weathers is a junior majoring in biology and son of Dr. G.W. Weathers; and Jennifer Thornton, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Fred Thornton, who is majoring in elementary education and English.

BENTON - Amy Hubbert threw a second-game no hitter and won both games to lead Kelly to a doubleheader sweep over Greenville Tuesday. Kelly's record is 5-1.

NEW MADRID - Marine Pfc. Danny M. Decker, son of Danny M. Decker of New Madrid, recently deployed with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe for six months to the Western Pacific. A 1991 graduate of Richland High School in Essex, Decker joined the Marine Corps in May 1991.

SIKESTON - The Sikeston Public Schools, in cooperation with the Kenny Rogers Cerebral Palsy Center, will show a videotape about the CP Center on cable television's local channel 12. Teachers are being urged to discuss cerebral palsy and allow their students to observe the video provided by the CP Center.
