BENTON -- Teamwork between two law enforcement agencies led to the seizure of drugs from three Wisconsin residents traveling through the area.
According to a news release issued Wednesday by Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, Scott County and Miner officers teamed up in a traffic stop just after midnight Wednesday.
Miner Police officers stopped the vehicle for speeding on Interstate 55. Deputies from Scott County who responded to the scene assisted in questioning the suspects and a search of the vehicle which resulted in them finding more than four pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
In the vehicle were: Samuel L. Mullen, 42, charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, bond set at $35,000; and Susan M. Broder, 39, and Herbert T. Maldonado, 19, who were both charged with possession of a controlled substance with a bond of $25,000 each. All are of Fond du Lac, Wis.
As of press time, all three suspects remained in custody at the Miner City Jail awaiting transport to the Scott County Jail.
