SIKESTON - Bertha A. Savage, 100, formerly of Morehouse, died at 4:40 a.m. July 29, 2004, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born Oct. 19, 1903, in Gabriel, Ark., daughter of the late Amos and Artie Parrish Cossey, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morehouse, where she sang in the choir.
On Dec. 17, 1923, at Morrilton, Ark., she married Clarence Dewey Savage who preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1970.
Survivors include: three sons, William H. "Hank" Savage of Jackson, Ga., Clarence Savage of Millington, Tenn., and Don Savage of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one daughter, Euleta M. Shaffar of Sikeston; and 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
One brother and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Dolan Rogers, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
