SIKESTON - It's simple. "We're just going to put a guy on the corner," explained Capt. Joe Sebourn of the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. A new plan to combat crime will move Sikeston DPS officers from inside the patrol car to the street corner.

JACKSON - The second straight year. The same site. The same point margin. A better feeling. Sikeston's varsity boys track team rolled up 133 points and edged Poplar Bluff by one point to claim the district championship Saturday at Jackson High. "I honestly didn't know how close it really was until the meet was over," Sikeston coach Gary Williams said.
