DEXTER -- Virginia Parris, 80, died May 19, 2002, at the Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Born June 24, 1921, in Cooter, daughter of the late John Nimmo and Jenny Frazier, she was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter.
On July 17, 1937, in New Madrid, she married Walter Ted Parris who preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1975.
Survivors include: six sons, Ralph Glyn Parris of Land O' Lakes, Fla., Dennis Parris and Keith Parris of Granite City, Ill., Eddie Parris of Nashville, Tenn., Michael Parris of Marble Hill and Kevin Parris of Dexter; five daughters, Faye Lenderman and Gwen Schock of O'Fallon, Joan Lowe of Dexter, Bonnie Stinson of Dudley and Patsy Hughes of Bertrand; two brothers, John Nimmo and Jerry Nimmo of Sikeston; three sisters, Estelle Oliver of Morehouse and Mabel Northcutt and Wanda Tippy of Sikeston; and 35 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Shirley Parris and Rebecca Parris; and three brothers, Bob Nimmo, Kenneth Nimmo and Dale Nimmo.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Pentecostal Church in Dexter. The Rev. Robert Bentley will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
