EAST PRAIRIE - Cecil Beeson, 83, died Oct. 30, 2003, at his home near East Prairie.
Born April 18, 1920, in Hattieville, Ark., son of the late Samuel Claude and Annie Tollison Beeson, he was a member of Barnes Ridge Baptist Church, New Madrid Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a retired farmer.
On Feb. 25, 1940, he married Lila Sutton who preceded him in death on July 10, 2002.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Sherri Beeson of East Prairie and Cleo and Peggy Beeson of Advance; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Ernest Kight of Abilene, Texas; two sisters, Lucille Cole of Marion, Ill., and Johnny McVay of Farrenburg; and eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and four sisters also preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Ernest Kight, pastor of Wyndrock Baptist Church of Abilene, will officiate.
Full military graveside honors will be conducted at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
