BENTON - Drafting of fathers will be necessary to fill future Scott County draft quotas, Clerk Norman Bugg of Scott County Selective Service Board, has announced. As the supply of single and childless married men has been steadily dwindling until now it is almost exhausted, fathers will be inducted from now on in order to make up the needed county totals.

SIKESTON - Rehearsal for Sikeston Little Theatre's first production, "The Tender Trap," a three-act comedy by Max Shullman and Robert Smith, began last night at the Middle School auditorium with much gusto.

ORAN - Oran trick-or-treaters can end their Halloween rounds at Couch's grocery store Monday night to participate in the annual costume judging contest. The event is sponsored by the Oran Fire and Rescue Squad and Couch's grocery store.

SIKESTON - Tetra Pak Inc. President Bengt Sjoren addressed members of city government and the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce Tuesday, explaining his company's impact on the world packaging market. Tetra Pak bought the Sikeston Potlach plant in the spring of 1992, along with similar operations in Pomona, Calif., and Fort Wayne, Ind. All three produce plastic-coated paper containers for milk and juice. Next year, a projected 1.7 million containers will leave the plant in Sikeston, each bearing the city's name.

SIKESTON - The Missouri State Highway Patrol is following up on a threat to eradicate illegal drug trafficking on Missouri highways. Officers in the Troop E area seized over $700,000 worth of cocaine in a Thursday afternoon drug bust. Two men are being held in the Pemiscot County Jail awaiting federal authorities.
