MALDEN - Jennie Lind Roth, 85, died March 16, 2005, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Nov. 26, 1919, in Tuckerman, Ark., daughter of the late Charles Spurgeon and Trella Victoria Sorrells Smith, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Malden. She taught many years with the 4-H program in New Madrid County and taught china painting at her home.
On Feb. 16, 1941, in Columbia, she married James Alouis Roth who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, James Richard and Evie Roth of Belmont, Mass., Charles Barron and Roberta Roth of Battleground, Ind., and Victor Lind and Rhonda Roth of Malden; one brother, Larry Dean Smith of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Charlene Melba Richardson of Forsythe; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jennings G. Smith, Norman Smith and Spurgeon Smith, and one sister, Juanita Blades.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. The Rev. Stan Wood officiated.
Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
