USDA Rural Development honors Dexter employee

DEXTER - Tom Bell, a construction analyst for Rural Development in Dexter, was recently honored for outstanding service.

"The agency is pleased to extend recognition to Tom Bell for his excellence performance in all aspects of his duties and providing exceptional assistance to rural residents," said Greg Branum, Missouri state director for USDA Rural Development. "Tom is headquartered out of Dexter but provides valuable technical construction assistance throughout Missouri."

As part of the Rural Development team, Bell assists in the delivery of programs including: rural housing, multi-family housing, community facilities, business and industry, and the water and wastewater programs.

On a day-to-day basis, he reviews plans and specifications; analyzes drawings and does cost analysis; conducts inspections. Also Bell assists other Rural Development staff regarding technical questions to help in administering the variety of programs to the public.

Rural Development is the primary credit arm of USDA and administers a variety of loan and grant programs to thousands of individuals, families, businesses and communities in Missouri. These funds are used to provide quality housing, good jobs, clean drinking water and waste disposal systems plus reliable modern essential community facilities and services in rural area.
