Born Oct. 26, 1925, at Parma to the late Arthur Bell and Martha Susan Driskol Hodges Sr., he was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter and a former welder for General Motors in St. Louis.
On Oct. 11, 1944, at Matthews, he married Nana Lou Jones who preceded him in death on May 11, 2004.
Survivors include: two sons, Doyal Hodges of St. Louis and Patrick Hodges of Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters, Paula Ulmer of Treadwell, N.Y., and Katrina Hatfield of Fenton; three sisters, Flora Ellen Jones of Clarksville, Ark., Pauline Jones of Arnold and Alice Rhodes of the state of California; and 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Hodges; two brothers, Arthur Bell Hodges Jr. and Orville Duncan; and one sister, Pearl Bagsby.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Mike Kohlbaker will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery at Advance.
