Virginia Reed

BESSEMER CITY, N.C. - Virginia Lee Reed, 67, died Oct. 30, 2003, at the Alexandria Nursing Care Center in Gastonia.

Born Dec. 29, 1935, in Gideon, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Daisey Lee Young Eubanks.

On Jan. 20, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., she married Leonard Junior Reed who preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1999.

Survivors include: three sons, Donald Reed and Keith Reed of Bessemer and Timothy Reed of Claremont; five daughters, Connie Brauncheidel of Old Town, Fla., Shirley Mehaffie of Dayton, Ohio, Maxine Crawford of Gastonia and Karen Reed and Elizabeth Reed of Bessemer City; three brothers, Oscar Eubanks of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Kenneth Eubanks of Dexter, Mo., and Donald Eubanks of Little Rock, Ark.; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were three brothers, James Eubanks, Robert Eubanks and Amos Eubanks; and five sisters, Mildred Turner, Juanita Davis, Vernice Sivert, Mary Harmon and Melma Blevins.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Mo., where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
