Accident kills area woman

BLOOMFIELD - A Bloomfield woman sustained fatal injuries in a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident occurred at 1 p.m. on Stoddard County Road 524, two miles east of Bloomfield, when an eastbound vehicle driven by Doris West, 42, ran off the roadway and overturned in a water-filled ditch.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.
